About Hallstatt
Hallstatt is a village in the hilly Salzkammergut region of Austria, on the western coast of Lake Hallstatt. Shops and cafes can be found among its lanes and Alpine residences from the 16th century. A funicular railway links the Skywalk Hallstatt observation platform with Salzwelten, an old salt mine featuring a subterranean salt lake. Waldbachstrub Waterfall and the Echern Valley glacier garden with glacial potholes are accessible via a route.
